Setup at FiorItaly, 2020

Program Details

The City of Medford is excited to be partnering with restaurants and eateries in Medford for another season of Outdoor Dining. The Outdoor Dining season runs from April 1st to October 31st.  The City will be looking to accommodate as many restaurants that want to participate in Outdoor Dining as possible. Applications for an Outdoor Dining license are accepted on a rolling basis, but businesses are encouraged to submit applications early.

Restaurants and cafes are welcome to apply for an Outdoor Dining license if they intend to provide outdoor seating in a public area. The public area can be on the sidewalk or in a parklet on the street created using jersey barriers. Outdoor dining is defined as any of the following full table service, seating areas for take-out, café seating, or benches. Establishments with outdoor dining setups on private property DO NOT need to apply.

Approval for proposed Outdoor Dining setups will be contingent on many factors including physical geography, other restaurants requesting space in the vicinity, accessibility, and safety concerns, among others.
