This is a city-administered grant program with a pathway to state tax credits. The program is to help business owners move into long-term vacant commercial spaces. There are eligibility requirements for business owners, like family income limits and job creation commitments.

This is a city-administered program, run in partnership with UpNext. Eligible business owners can apply to occupy a free, short-term space in a retail storefront. The goal is to help entrepreneurs test their products, grow their customer base, and contribute to the vibrancy of Medford’s business districts.

The city-administered program will support underserved and underrepresented entrepreneurs through an educational program. A cohort of Medford entrepreneurs will have access to hands-on training for building a business in Medford. Topics covered include business planning, advertising, finance and accounting, securing financing, strategic review, computer literacy, and legal issues.

This city-administered program supported several business owners’ renovation of their facades in 2022. This grant program provided financial support (up to $5,000 with a 1:1 match by the applicant)  and professional design services to Medford business and property owners looking to enhance their buildings. 

Funding for this project was discontinued in 2023. The City is actively pursuing alternative funding sources.  

The outdoor dining season runs from May through October annually. Restaurants, cafes, and other food establishments can apply for a temporary outdoor dining license to set up seating areas on the public sidewalk or in public parking spaces. Outdoor dining licenses are not required for seating on private property.

This temporary park is active from spring through fall. Businesses, non-profits, and other ventures are welcome to reserve the space and plan creative public events.  The Clippership Pop-Up Park is located at 75 Riverside Avenue.

• Makerspace: use the MakerSpace for construction materials and 3D printers for prototypes.
