Medford Square District Improvement Financing (DIF)

Project Background:

This District Improvement Financing (DIF) is part of a bigger overall plan for the revitalization of Medford Square. The City of Medford’s goals include ensuring investment in Medford Square, and focusing on maintaining infrastructure and other needed development activities. Through the DIF, the City of Medford will be able to realize these goals by capturing new growth, and supporting the redevelopment of City-owned property.

The DIF will enable Medford to establish a district in which public projects can be funded with tax revenues from that district. The purpose of the DIF is to encourage private development in a specific area, in this case Medford Square. The Medford Square DIF aims to grow and strengthen the local economy, and help facilitate the growth and revitalization of Medford Square.
