Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program

Applications are now open!

Do you own and live in a home in Medford that needs important repairs or updates? Based on income eligibility, you may qualify for an interest-free, deferred payment loan of up to $50,000 through this program. A lottery will be conducted to select applications.

The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The program is subject to the availability of CDBG funding from HUD and to the continued eligibility of the City to receive such funds. Review and acceptance of applicants will be subject to applicable HUD regulations.

What services are offered?

The program provides home repairs that could include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead pain inspection and abatement
  • Accessibility upgrades
  • Heating systems
  • Foundation repairs
  • Hot water heaters
  • Insulation
  • Walls/ceilings/floors
  • Painting
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Siding
  • Roof repairs and replacement
  • Air-conditioning systems
  • Porches/steps
  • Windows
  • Radon testing and mitigation

Who is eligible to apply?

Medford homeowners who live in their homes and have household incomes (including income of all household members aged 18 and above) that are at or below the amount listed below.
