The Clippership Pop-Up Park is located at 75 Riverside Avenue. Stop by during park hours: 8am–8pm. It is open spring, summer, and fall for all to enjoy!

The pop-up park will feature programming like concerts and movie nights in partnership with Medford Recreation, weather permitting. A schedule of events is available on the Medford Recreation Calendar.

There are tables, chairs, and games available for public use. We invite you to enjoy the space respectfully.

About

Clippership Pop-up Park opened in October 2024. The pop-up is the first step toward the future of fully activated waterfront experience along a revitalized Clippership Park. Planning for the reimagined Clippership Park is underway and could include street and pathway improvements, new programming opportunities, public artwork, and accessibility improvements.

The pop-up park works in tandem with the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Clippership Connector project. Together these projects will help to revitalize Medford’s waterfront area and expand access to these spaces. The Clippership Connector, which is under construction (and set to open soon!), will create a path that connects over ten miles of contiguous greenways, and Clippership Park.

Medford Family Network and Medford Public School High School students completed beautiful murals on the barriers. City staff from the Department of Public Works have been a huge help in placing barriers, furniture, and keeping the park clean. Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn and city staff painted the pavement mural. Students at Medford Vocational High School created the banner on the storage building. Thank you to all who dedicated their time to making this park possible!

Volunteer Opportunity

The City of Medford’s Office of Planning, Development, and Sustainability is seeking volunteers to be park stewards. The goal of a park steward is to help keep the Medford's Clippership Pop-up Park safe, clean, and welcoming for all! As a park steward volunteer, you will play an important role in supporting the Clippership Pop-up Park through simple but meaningful tasks that promote environmental stewardship and community pride.

A park steward should commit to a minimum of 1 hour per week. Student volunteers are welcome in the summer and adult volunteers are welcome spring, summer, and fall. The steward’s responsibilities include:

  • 🔐 Ensuring the park equipment is secure and in good condition, like closing umbrellas and arranging chairs to be neat
  • 🗑️ Picking up litter and debris on tables, pavement, planters, etc.
  • 🧹 Sweeping pavement to keep it clean
  • 🧼 Wiping down surfaces such as benches and tables
  • 🌱 Watering planters and making sure they look nice.
  • 🦺 Reporting vandalism, graffiti, safety hazards, missing or broken furniture, etc.
  • 💬 Acting as a friendly, respectful ambassador to park visitors

Parking Information

The pop-up park is situated in an existing municipal parking lot, but the good news is that no parking was lost to make the park! To create the pop-up park, the City has relocated six pre-existing parking spots within the parking lot and added additional spots. The link below shows the new locations for eight (8) new parking spots:
