About the Community Liaison Team
Who are we?
We are a team of community liaisons working with the City of Medford to design programs and services in partnership with Medford community members. We are the first multicultural and multilingual team of liaisons in Medford. We are passionate about connecting with Medford community members and lifting up the voices of our communities in the City.
What are we doing?
We have a long-term vision. We want Medford to be a better and more equitable place for future generations, and that means making sure Medford community members have the resources they need to prepare for and recover from climate emergencies like extreme heat, flooding, and major storms. We are exploring the idea of community hubs in Medford, and we are here to listen and to understand our communities’ experiences, needs, and ideas so we can create better services together.
Why should I get involved?
Every voice matters. In order to make our city a better place for everyone, we have to include everyone. We want to ensure everyone in Medford has the ability to access information and services they need.

Meet Your Community Liaisons
Aaron Olapade
Hey everyone, my name is Aaron Olapade, and I am a rising Junior at Boston College studying Political Science. I have been a Medford resident for just over 8 years with no intention of leaving anytime soon. I grew up in Medford Public Schools starting at Andrews Middle School and finishing off with Medford High, participating in various clubs including the Crew Team and the Center for Citizenship and Social Responsibility (CCSR). I have found a home here in Medford after moving around a few times in my younger years and I can’t be more thankful. Wishing to enact real systemic change in the world, I am driven by bettering the lives of as many people as possible from the local to national level. I came to this project because I believe that the only way to a more equal and equitable community and society is to communicate with one another. This initiative will allow me and my peers to create a space for dialogue with our community about their questions and concerns of the city so that we can better understand and meet needs.

David LeRoux Mojica Perez
He llegado a amar mi nuevo hogar y he llegado a conocer gente fantástica.
Isadora Brito
Hi, my name is Isadora Brito. I am Brazilian native born in Brasil and raised on Martha’s Vineyard. My background in domestic violence counseling has connected me to real people and given me an opportunity to witness struggles firsthand for many years. When I moved to Medford, I knew I wanted to be part of the Medford community and do meaningful work. Being a community liaison for the MVP Project gives me an opportunity to do exactly that.
Samira Hayek

Hello, my name is Samira Hayek. I am a Lebanese immigrant. I came to the United States in the early 90’s. I speak three languages: Arabic, English and French. I am the proud mother of three children. I moved to Medford over ten years ago. I grew to love this town and I want everyone to have that same sense of belonging. I’ve always had a passion for helping others and I can’t ignore those in need. Being a resident of Medford gave me the opportunity to work closely with members of my community to increase awareness about the ongoing environmental crisis. I love to travel and participate in lots of activities such as tai-ji, painting, writing, hiking, cooking and baking. My mission is to spread positivity and awareness, as well as to be an effective member to promote community resilience.
