Curbside Composting in Medford

The City of Medford has partnered with local company Garbage to Garden to offer a residential curbside compost collection service. Beginning in July 2024, this service is free to eligible residents. Residents must opt in at medfordcomposts.com in order to participate.

After signing up, the bin is delivered directly to your address on your regular trash day and compost pickup starts the following week.

Curbside composting is a way to recycle food scraps and compostable materials through a pickup service rather than at home. Composting has numerous benefits for air quality, clean water, and soil. Food scraps have the correct ratio of nutrients that plants need to grow. By composting your food scraps, including meat, dairy, bones, and napkins, you’re putting nutrients back into the soil instead of wasting them!
