Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)

Medford and neighboring communities have a wealth of organizations and projects that do important work in the areas of concern to the Medford Human Diversity Office. We have included links to some of these organizations here in case you are interested in contacting any of them.

• NAACP Mystic Valley Branch, and national NAACP: To ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.
• Community Cupboard food pantry provides food for people in need every Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30pm.
• Medford Family Network: a family support and parenting education program that is available to every child and caregiver who lives or works in Medford with at least one child prenatal through age seven.
• The Welcome Project: Builds the collective power of immigrants to participate in and shape community decisions.
• ABCD: A nonprofit human services organization that each year provides more than 100,000 low income residents in the Greater Boston region with the tools and resources needed to transition from poverty to stability and from stability to success.
• The Metro North Regional Employment Board: A public-private partnership whose mission is to enable area residents to gain skills that will maximize their economic self-sufficiency and to provide employers with the workforce they need to effectively compete in the changing world economy.
• Medford Health Matters: Fostering an environment of wellness and healthy lifestyles in Medford
• Center for Citizenship and Social Responsibility, Medford High School: Provides instructional resources, activities, coordination, and training to support our mission of developing responsible global citizens who will be positive contributors to society.
• Medford Conversations: Building a stronger Medford starts with open conversations about the issues impacting our communities.
• Zonta Club of Medford: Works to achieve gender equality and empowerment of women.
• Community Health Network Area 16 (CHNA 16): Collaboratively identifies local and regional health priorities, designs community-based prevention plans, and track success in achieving healthier communities.
