The general mandate of the Medford Council on Aging is to be the primary advocate for Medford’s older adults.

Magan Transportation services the City of Medford for transportation to and from the Medford Senior Center, Monday - Friday (excluding holidays/days the Senior Center is closed)

Transportation for medical appointments and grocery shopping

Medical appointments begin with pick-ups from 9 am on and return must be by 4:00 pm.

Currently, also offering a grant funded pilot program offering transportation for up to 10 people in total, to Market Basket in Woburn, twice a month on Mondays. 
Limited to one trip per month. Reservations for this shuttle are made Mon - Fri between the hours of 9 am and 1:30 pm (excluding holidays). Rides can be booked two weeks to two business days in advance on a first-come, first-served basis. The Market Basket shuttle picks up between 10 and 11 am, arriving at the store between 11:15 - 11:30 am. The shuttle leaves Market Basket at 1:00 pm for home drop-offs. Limited to 3 bags or boxes per person.

Transportation for disabled people - must qualify and be approved through the MBTA the Ride first via and in-person interview.

An on-demand option for people already qualified for the Ride, using the Uber and Lyft rideshare services. This option provides same-day transportation at a subsidized price and has a cap on the number of trips one can take per month. A Smartphone is required to book Ride FLEX trips via the Uber app. Ride FLEX trips with Lyft can be booked either using the Lyft Smartphone app or by phone.

TRIP is a program sponsored by Mystic Valley Elder Services that allows friends, neighbors and others to be reimbursed for rides given to people 60 years or over, or an adult living with a disability who do not drive and can’t use or access public transportation. People must apply for eligibility by calling Mystic Valley Elder Services 781-324-7705.
