Voting Information for the September 16th Municipal Preliminary Election for City Council

Early voting for the September 16th Municipal Preliminary Election will be held from Saturday, September 6th through Friday, September 12th in the City of Medford. In Medford, there will only be a preliminary for the City Council race, with the top 14 candidates heading to the ballot in November. Early voting will take place in the Alden Memorial Chambers at Medford City Hall, 85 George P. Hassett Dr., as follows:

In addition to early voting, Medford residents have two other options for casting ballots for the upcoming election:

Mail-in Ballots

Any Medford registered voter can request a mail-in ballot. The deadline to request a Vote by Mail ballot is Tuesday, September 9th at 5pm. The form is available at the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website https://www.sec.state.ma.us/divisions/elections/voting-information/vote-by-mail.htm, in the Election Office (Room 102 of City Hall), or by calling the Election Office at 781-393-2491 and requesting one to be mailed to your residence. Apply as early as possible to allow ballots to reach your address and to be returned to Medford City Hall, Room 102, by 8pm on Election Day (September 16th). To return your completed ballot and signed envelope, you can mail it to City Hall (85 George P. Hassett Dr., Medford), bring it to City Hall during business hours, or drop it into the Ballot Drop Box outside of City Hall. Completed ballots must be received by 8pm on September 16th. Do not bring your vote by mail ballot to your polling location, it can only be accepted at City Hall (85 George P. Hassett Dr., Medford) on the day of the Preliminary Election.
