Minimum Purchase Age Compliance Checks

Minimum Purchase Age Compliance Checks

The City of Medford Police Department, in collaboration with the Medford Health Department and the Mystic Valley Public Health Coalition, will soon conduct Minimum Purchase Age Compliance Checks. These checks help ensure that businesses are properly checking IDs and not selling or serving alcohol to anyone under 21 years of age.

Effective and regular compliance checks help reduce the sale of alcohol to minors and curb underage drinking, as well as help prevent issues related to alcohol consumption such as alcohol-related traffic crashes, crime, health issues and poor performance in school. Together, we can keep our communities healthy and safe.
