Medford Fire Secures $105K Cummings Foundation Grant

The Medford Fire Department (MFD) has been selected as one of 150 organizations to receive funding through the Cummings Foundation’s annual grant program, announced Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn. Chosen through a competitive review process that drew a record 959 applicants, MFD will receive $105,000 over three years.

The Fire Department will receive $35,000 per year over three years. The grant will be used to enhance the department's community engagement efforts and strengthen relationships with the Medford community.

“As we work to develop our community engagement programs, the Medford Fire Department is honored to receive the support of the Cummings Foundation,” said Fire Chief Todd Evans. “Thank you to everyone who supported and worked on our grant application.”

The annual grant program supports Massachusetts nonprofits that are based in and primarily serve Middlesex, Essex, and Suffolk counties, as well as Brookline, Dedham, Milton, Needham, Quincy, and Wellesley. Through this place-based initiative, Cummings Foundation reinvests in the areas where it owns commercial real estate.
