City of Medford to Launch New Website

New Site Will Allow for better Communication with the Public and Expand Accessibility and Improve Functionality

(MEDFORD) - The City of Medford will launch its newly designed website this Monday, January 30th, Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn announced. Earlier this year the City signed a contract with FinalSite, a website, content management system and communications platform.

Having built out the new site on the Finalsite CMS engine, the City has completely overhauled the old medfordma.org website into a new fully functional, responsive and dynamic user experience with enhanced clarity and ease of accessing important information for residents. The new website expands functionality and accessibility, creating a more comprehensive and dynamic user-experience.

“For years the City was operating with an outdated website platform that was limited in functionality, design and accessibility,” said Mayor Lungo-Koehn. “Now as we launch this new version of the City’s website, we’ll be able to better engage and communicate with the public. I am thrilled to be able to bring this new website to the community and urge everyone to navigate through the new site to find information in a much more clear, concise and consistent manner. Thank you to my team, Communications Director Steve Smirti, Director of Community Affairs Lisa Colaianni, and our web intern George Toufas for their work getting this project across the finish line. ”

The custom website was built by the City over the past several months with input from every City department, board, and commission. The site furthers the City’s communication and accessibility goals to ensure that every resident and neighbor can find resources in an equitable way. The website has the ability to translate all pages into five languages: English, Español, Kreyòl ayisyen, Português Brasileiro, العربية‏, and Français.

The City’s website will continue to be found at www.medfordma.org but user access, website themes, and search functions will be updated for a better user experience.
