What do I do if I am selling my property and I need a Final Reading?
Please read the water meter and e-mail (email@example.com) or phone in the reading to us (781-393-2498). We will provide the final reading to you within 24-48 hours.
You may receive your final bill by return e-mail, regular mail or pick up at City Hall, Treasurer’s Office, room 108.
The fee is $25 and will be added to the bill. Payment must be in the form of cash, certified check or closing attorney’s check.
Include your phone number with your request, if we are unable to confirm the reading we will need to schedule a site visit.

How do I change the name and/or address on the Water/Sewer bill?
All change of addresses must be made in writing., E-mail your request to: email@example.com or by mail (or in person) to Treasurer/Collector’s Office, 85 George P. Hassett Dr., Medford MA 02155.
What happens if I do not pay my Water/Sewer Bill?
Water/Sewer bill payments must be received on or before the due date to avoid interest charges. Interest accrues at a rate of 14% per annum, computed from the date the bill was due.
If the bill is not paid a demand will be issued and a fee of $10.00 will be added to the account.
If the account remains delinquent, the amount that is delinquent is subject to being liened on the owner’s property tax bill. Half the delinquent amount plus interest will be liened on the 3rd quarter real estate tax bill and the other half will be liened on the 4th quarter real estate tax bill.
The payment deadline to avoid water/sewer lien is December 1st.
Under state law, failure to receive a bill does not affect the validity of the bill or any interest and fines incurred due to late payment(s). It is the responsibility of the homeowner to secure his/her bill when one is not received.
