Please note that during the week of April 17, trash/recycling collection will be delayed one day due the Patriot’s Day holiday.
Trash will be delayed by one day the week of February 20 due to the President’s Day holiday on Monday.
There will be NO DELAY of trash or recycling pick-up the weeks of December 26, 2016 and January 2, 2017.
Christmas Trees will be collected the week of January 9, 2017 on your scheduled trash day.

Recycling White Goods, Appliances, and Electronics
This is a reminder that the proper recycling of white goods, appliances and electronics requires a disposal sticker. These are available for $25 from the DPW Office, Room 304 at City Hall or send a check and details on what you want recycled to DPW, City Hall, 85 George P. Hassett Drive, Medford 02155.
Trashing Bulk Items
Bulk items are items that will not fit into your trash cart, such as mattresses, box springs, mirrors, rugs, furniture, etc. Bulk items will only be picked up by reservation and only during your recycling week. Please call Waste Management at 800-972-4545 to schedule a pick-up. There is no fee for bulk items.
Violations will be subject to a $300 fine. Remember, trash of any kind should not be put out on the sidewalk until the late afternoon or early evening of the day prior to your scheduled pick up.
Per Waste Management, due to the blizzard, there was no trash or recycling collection today, Tuesday, January 27th. Tuesday’s trash and recycle collection has been postponed to NEXT Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Official overflow bags will NOT be required for excess trash or recycling on Tuesday, February 3rd ONLY.
This week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday collections will be delayed by one day, to Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Please be sure all carts are away from the curb until Wednesday night to allow plows to do their job. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The snow emergency will remain in effect until further notice. City Hall, the Senior Center, Library and Medford Public Schools will also be closed Wednesday, January 28th.
Please do not throw snow into the streets, as it creates a public safety hazard.
