Get Your Senior CharlieCard For First Time Senior Charlie Card Holders
Wednesday, October 11th from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon You must bring a valid ID (driver’s license, Mass ID or Passport required) Malden Catholic High School students will volunteer and assist with the program. It will take approximately 6 weeks for the MBTA to process and mail the card directly to those who participate. If you already have a Charlie card, call 617-222-3200 to renew over the phone.

Join DA Marian Ryan Wednesday October 11th at 1:00 pm Do you like to knit or crotchet? Know someone who does? By combining your time and talent, your homemade blanket can make a difference in the life of a child. Middlesex DA Marian Ryan and Project Linus have teamed up to provide blankets to children who have experienced a recent trauma. To learn more about the need for blankets and how you can help support this important partnership, please stop by the senior center to visit with DA Ryan and representatives of Project Linus. Blankets must be new and handmade.
Parkinson’s Support Group Tuesday October 3rd at 1:00 pm New day and Time
Learning how to Live with Parkinson’s Disease. Join Kim Arouth, RN from Greater Medford VNA This group welcomes patients and families to join. Refreshments will be served.
Dance Caliente Starring Eileen Herman Haase and Raul Nieves Dancing Through Time and History with Dance Caliente. Thursday, October 5th 1:30pm—2:30pm, space is limited, tickets are FREE. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Medford Arts Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. Refreshments will be available

Zumba/Fitness Classes Mondays and Wednesdays with Emily Brenner Zumba Gold® Mondays at 10:00am takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older member. Cost is $5.00 per class drop in.
Dance Fitness/Yoga Dance Wednesdays at 10:00am; combines yoga, dance, breath and energy with great music. This class brings tons of fun and healing to body, mind and spirit. $3 per class.
YOGA CLASSES WITH ROSA BROWN Mondays $3.00 per class Gentle Yoga ~ 12:45pm for those who want seated, standing, and floor yoga poses. This is an amazing group of seniors who are willing to stretch in every way, and able to get down on the floor.
Chair Yoga ~ 2:00pm, seated and standing yoga poses that are adapted to the needs of the group. We stretch, strengthen, challenge our balance, and take time to relax.
LINE DANCING for fun and fitness with instructor Charlotte – Tuesdays, from 10:00am to 11:00am $3.00 per person, all levels of dance are welcome. Have fun learning some new moves. No class Oct. 17th.
Strength & Balance— with Nancy K FREE WEDNESDAYS 1 hour class with our instructor Nancy. Focus on your strength and balance. Use of light weights, seated chair program for beginners as well, TIME 1:15pm to 2:15pm. Donations accepted. No class October 18th.
Tai Chi Chi Kung with Marie Favorito – Fridays starting at 9:45am. Tai chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Drop In $5.00 per class.

Veterans Coffee Hour Thursday, October 5th. Veterans and their families are welcome to a coffee social at the Senior Center on the first Thursday of each month beginning at 2pm. The first half hour we will discuss a designated topic and then we will open up the conversation to everyone. Light refreshments will be served.
CARE CAFÉ (Caregivers Assemble Relax and Enjoy) – will meet the first Wednesday of each month, October 4th, from 10am—12noon. Memory Café style environment with social interaction featuring the Mitsy Kit Project (a touch based sewing & quilting activity) for all participation levels.
