Cape Cod Canals 105th Anniversary Tour!! 2nd Bus ADDED Tuesday, July 25th— $79 per person includes motor coach to Sandwich on the Cape. Visit the Sandwich Glass museum, view real glass blowing artisans creating pieces of art. Then off to Daniel Webster Inn for a Grand Buffet, follow that with a two-hour narrated cruise of the Cape Cod Canal. Tickets available
Zumba/Fitness Classes Mondays and Wednesdays with Emily Brenner Zumba Gold ® Mondays at 10:00am takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older member. Cost is $5.00 per class drop in. No class July 3rd.
Dance Fitness/Yoga Dance Wednesdays at 10:00am combines Yoga, dance, breath and energy with great music. This class brings tons of fun and healing to body, mind and spirit. Cost is $3 per class.
YOGA CLASSES WITH ROSA BROWN Mondays Gentle Yoga ~ 12:45 pm for those who want to do seated, standing and floor yoga poses. This is an amazing group of seniors who are willing to stretch in every way. And can get down on the floor. $3.00 per class Chair Yoga at 2:00pm. Seated and standing yoga poses that are adapted to the needs of the group. We stretch, strengthen, challenge our balance, and take time to relax. $3.00 per class. No Classes July 3rd.
LINE DANCING for fun and fitness with instructor Charlotte TUESDAYS 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Register at time of class. Fee: $3.00 per class. All levels of dance are welcome.
Strength & Balance with Nancy K. FREE; WEDNESDAYS- 1 hour class with our instructor Nancy. Focus on your strength and balance. Use of light weights, seated chair program for beginners as well,TIME 1:15pm to 2:15pm. Donations accepted. No Class July 12th.
KNIT & CROCHET FREE; Tuesdays, 10:00am. Please join our instructors Dolores for crochet and Jean for knitting in creating some beautiful handmade creations.
CERAMICS: with Rosemary Ardagna from Claydreams of Arlington. Classes are held on Fridays from 10am to noon. Cost is $5.00 per 2-hour class (cost of pottery piece not included).
Mitsy Project Quilting Class– Wednesdays at 1:00pm at the Medford Senior Center. FREE quilting class. All age groups are welcome in this inter-generational activity; only 15 participants can be accommodated with priority being given to blind or visually impaired registrants. Family Stories through Art– Tuesday, August 15th 1:30-3:30pm—One day workshop, hand paint papers, cut, paste, and create a collage. Opportunities to orally rehearse our stories before we write. Leave with a portfolio of art and story to share with family and friends. Art course in simple collage techniques and a writing class that uses art to lead writing. No prerequisites, just bring your stories. Limited to 14 participants. LCC/MCC class.
Parkinson’s Support Group – Learning How to live with Parkinson’s Disease will not meet in July. The next meeting will be August 2nd at 10:30am. Kim Arouth, RN from Greater Medford VNA will be leading the group. This group welcomes patients and families to join. For questions feel free to call the Senior Center at 781-396-6010.
Low Vision Support Group Next meeting will be held July 21st. The Low Vision support group is sponsored by the Mass Association for the Blind and Visually impaired. The group is for individuals who are losing their vision and would like to learn from and listen to others.
SHINE Wednesdays in July from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, Ynes Hernandez will be available by appointment on Wednesdays to help you with all your health insurance needs. Call 781-396-6010 for appointments.

CARE CAFÉ (Caregivers Assemble Relax and Enjoy) – Memory Café style environment with social interaction featuring the Mitsy Kit Project (a touch based sewing & quilting activity) for all participation levels. The Medford Senior Center is looking to restock the DVD library. If you have any DVD’s that you are no longer using, we will be happy to add them to our collection.
FOOD PANTRY for Elders Thursday, July 13th at 2pm. Elders and adults with disabilities who are interested in taking part in the food pantry should visit the Medford Senior Center to fill out an application. Participants must register prior to visiting the food pantry and qualify based on income, disability, and age. Stop by the center or call 781-396-6010 for an application.
