The project would like to update you on the ongoing early works construction activity on the Green Line Extension (GLX).
As construction continues along the railroad right-of-way in Medford and Somerville, abutters can expect to see crews engaging in support of excavation work as early as the week of June 19, 2017 in the vicinity of Tufts University in Medford.
This activity will be within the MBTA railroad right-of-way and work hours are anticipated to be approximately 7 AM – 4:30 PM. This work will include drilling piles and excavation work which will involve moderate to high levels of noise. Abutters may also notice temporary fencing installed along the right-of-way as a safety requirement for construction.
As a reminder, on June 21, 2017, the GLX team will hold a public meeting to provide an update on the project and this early work construction in Medford. The meeting will be held at Medford City Hall Council Chambers (85 George P Hassett Dr, Medford, MA) from 6:00-7:30 PM.
This work is an important step in bringing the Green Line from Cambridge to Medford and Somerville. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact the Green Line Extension at firstname.lastname@example.org or 855-GLX-INFO (459-4636).
Thank you for your interest in the Green Line Extension project.
