Park Medford, in collaboration with the City of Medford Mayor’s Office, has launched the Business Add-On Program, which enables businesses to add additional time for a customer during an appointment. Most meters currently located in business districts allow customers to park for up to 2 hours on the street and 3 hours in municipal lots. With this new program, if the customer’s appointment exceeds the time allowed, participating businesses can contact Park Medford and add additional time to a customer’s meter beyond the allowed parking time limit.
“We know how important it is to allow customers to have uninterrupted appointments without having to run out to their vehicle,” said Mayor Stephanie M. Burke. “By launching this program, we want to improve the experience of patrons in the squares on behalf of the businesses who serve them.”
To participate in the program, businesses must create an account with Park Medford and pre-pay for time. If a customer needs to add time to their meter, the business can email Park Medford the customer’s vehicle plate number and the time in hourly increments will automatically be added. Parking enforcement officers will be informed by Park Medford. The cost to add parking is $1.00 for each additional hour and the business – not the customer – will pay. The program will benefit businesses who offer appointments that may exceed 2 hours, such as hair salons, doctors’ offices, restaurants, and more.
This program joins other existing programs designed to make parking in Medford more convenient, including the Senior Permit Program and the ParkMobile Phone App. For more information about all Park Medford programs, visit www.parkmedford.org.
