On Saturday, September 17, 2016 and Sunday, September 18, 2016 shuttle buses will replace subway and commuter rail services at the specific locations listed below due to Stage 1 Construction on the Route 16 Bridge over the MBTA Orange Line:
– Orange Line – Buses will replace Orange Line trains from Wellington Station to Oak Grove Station.
– Commuter Rail – The Haverhill Line will terminate/originate at Malden Center. Buses will replace Commuter Rail trains between Oak Grove Station, Malden Center, and Wellington Station.
Regular MBTA service will resume at the start of service on Monday, September 19, 2016.
Route 16 Westbound, from Santilli Circle to Wellington Circle, will have a single right lane closure throughout the duration of the weekend diversion. Appropriate signs, channelizing devices and traffic control measures will be used to guide drivers through the restricted area.
MassDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes, if possible, to avoid delays. Drivers that must travel through the affected area should expect delays and should reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
