The City of Medford is announcing that new pedestrian crosswalk signage has been installed in various locations throughout the City. In an effort to remind citizens about crosswalk safety, signs have been placed strategically next to the crosswalk to encourage drivers to use caution, and stop for pedestrians entering the crosswalk.
By enhancing the signage around the City, our goal is to reduce the number of distracted driving incidents, accidents and injuries throughout the community. “Our focus is to ensure that pedestrians are safe and that drivers are abiding by the law when a pedestrian is in the crosswalk,” said Mayor Stephanie M. Burke. “It is very important that the community understands that safety is a priority and we will continue to make improvements to crosswalk signage in areas of concern.”
