The Water Department will be flushing fire hydrants and water mains starting Monday September 28, 2015. The hydrant and water main flushing will be done between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Weather permitting the flushing will conclude in two weeks. Water main flushing is an effective method of improving drinking water quality and is an important component of the City’s distribution system maintenance program.
Flushing can cause temporary reductions in water pressure, short service interruptions and discolored water. If your water is discolored, run your cold water tap. Avoid running washing machines during flushing.
