Mayor Michael J. McGlynn, local elected officials, youth softball players and local neighbors are pictured cutting the ribbon to the newly re-constructed McNally Park on Webster Street in Medford on Friday, June 12.
The park improvements were funded by a PARC grant and monies from the city’s linkage and bond funds. Shadley Associates completed the park design and A & K Construction did the renovation. McNally Park now features a new softball field, dugouts, bleachers, and accessible pathways. Creative play structures for children 6-24 months, 2-5 years old, and 5- 12 years old are now in place. There are picnic tables, seating areas, a shade structure, solar trash barrels and a community garden.
Mayor McGlynn thanked Lauren DiLorenzo & Clodagh Stoker Long of the Office of Community Development, Pam Shadley, Louis Scalise and Mike Nestor for their assistance and oversight of the McNally Park improvements.
