Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh announced that the City of Boston will hold a moment of silence at 2:49 PM tomorrow, April 15th, to mark the two year anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombings. Church bells will then ring throughout the City. Mayor Walsh has asked that all people in the Commonwealth and around the world join with Bostonians in this moment of silence. Mayor Walsh has previously announced that April 15th will be known as “One Boston Day”, a new tradition to honor the resiliency, generosity and strength of the City of Boston. “One Boston Day” will encourage random acts of kindness and spreading goodwill.
Therefore, I Michael J. McGlynn, Mayor of the City of Medford, do hereby encourage our citizens to mark the moment of silence tomorrow, as well as, hope that Medford’s residents will preform random acts of kindness and goodwill. Grace Church and other churches in Medford will also ring their church bells at 2:49 PM Wednesday.
