On Saturday, April 26 the Columbus Park ribbon-cutting, first annual Krystle Campbell softball tournament, and Medford Little League Opening Day are all taking place.
At 9:30AM Mayor Michael McGlynn will re-dedicate the newly renovated Columbus Park (Hicks Avenue, next to Columbus School). At 10AM Krystle’s parents, Patricia and William Campbell, will throw out the first pitch to kick off the softball tournament. From 9AM-10AM, the Red Sox 2013 World Series trophy will be available for pictures. For a $10 donation to the Krystle Campbell Scholarship Fund, pictures can be taken with trophy. Please bring your own cameras.
At 11AM the Campbells will serve as grand marshals of Medford’s Little League parade, which begins at Medford City Hall, proceeds down Riverside Avenue, and ends at Drane Field (between Andrews and McGlynn Schools).
Wally the Green Monster and the World Series trophy will be available at John Brewer’s Tavern (7 Highland Avenue, Malden) from 3-7PM. The trophy will again be available for photos with a donation to support the Krystle Campbell scholarship Fund. Los Rubios, Medford High’s a cappella group, will also perform.
All are welcome at these events!
