Mayor Michael McGlynn held a press conference on Friday, April 4, 2014 and made the following announcements:
Hotel Coming to Station Landing
The eighth and last building to be developed at Station Landing is a hotel. Ted Tye of National Development said the hotel will have 152 rooms, a small pool, a bar, and a bistro. It will be located at the corner of Presidents Landing and Station Landing. Construction will begin sometime this year. The hotel will be an AC Hotel by Marriott.
Summer Recreation Update
The City of Medford is accepting applications for the following positions in our Summer Recreation Program: Lifeguards, Bathhouse Attendants and Park Instructors. Please see our summer jobs announcement for more details.
The annual summer recreation guide will be available at the end of April. The guide will contain details about all of Medford’s summer programs and events. Details will also be posted soon about accessing Tufts Pool and Wright’s Pond.
Armstrong Ambulance Donates Defibrillators
Armstrong Ambulance has generously donated two automated defibrillators to Medford. One will be located at City Hall and the other at the library. Employees at both locations will be trained to use them.
Armstrong Ambulance employees Sean Mangan and Glenn Biddiscombe received official citations from Medford for earning the Star of Life award, a national EMS excellence award.

Community Park Cleanup Program
Community Park Cleanups are being coordinated through the Office of Energy & Environment. Redemption Hill Church and Cambridge Church of the 7th Day Adventists are currently planning cleanups. Friends of the Mystic River have their annual River cleanup on April 26th, 9am-noon, meeting at Hormel Stadium.

St. Clement’s Boys Basketball Division 4 State Champs
Medford presented citations to the players of the St. Clement’s boys basketball team for winning the Division Four state championship. A Key to the City was also presented to the principal and coach.
