It is now possible to view the city’s art collection online!
Last summer, thanks to a grant from the Medford Arts Council and the Friends of the Medford Public Library, art historian Erin Halvey photographed and researched art objects in city buildings. The city owns quite a few pieces of art but no comprehensive inventory existed. Erin started with the Library’s collections, researching and cataloging each piece and then moved on to other city buildings. She turned up quite a few treasures from the Library’s Amelia Earhart collection to the large number of WPA paintings at City Hall.
Erin’s research and photographs of the art objects were turned into to an online exhibit sponsored by Biblioboard Library which it is now available for viewing on the Library’s website as well as the city website.
